Young Yarns and Aboriginal Families as Teachers are playgroups for local Aboriginal families. These playgroups are designed to be fun and a way for parents and Booris to connect with other families. Trained educators help support parents in their important role as their child’s first teacher and monitor each child’s development.

Parents and Booris read books together, play music, sing, dance, paint, draw and cook. Aboriginal stories and culture are a part of these weekly groups.

Aboriginal playgroups are held in the following locations:

  • Albion Park Rail – Young Yarns – Mondays 9.30am-11.30am
  • Sanctuary Point – Bilima Booris – Mondays 9.30am-11.30am
  • South Nowra – Gubidja Wurrangalali Gooyoong (previously Cullunghutti Playgroup) – Tuesdays 9.30am-11.30am
  • Ulladulla – Mondays 9.30am-11.30am
